Hope for Peace. With gentle tones, this idea stands at the heart of this concert, in which the unique sound of the Kebyart Saxophone Quartet merges with the singing of ensemble cantissimo to create ethereal soundscapes. The works in this program, conceived “against senseless war” — in Georgian “Amao omi”, the title of a composition by Giya Kancheli — radiate calm and inner reflection.
The seven poems by the rediscovered Edward Staempfli (1908–2002), set to texts by Paul Éluard, poetically depict life in times of war through French-impressionistic sounds. The concert promises to be a sensuous musical experience of the highest caliber in turbulent times.
This concert is co-presented by Stiftung für Konzerte in der Klosterkirche Münsterlingen
